ABOUT COLLECTION

‘Where’s my teenage dream’ Lydia James graduate collection explores the coming-of-age period, ever changing landscape of being a teenager, and the traumas of growing up.

Drawing upon the personal experiences of me and my sisters, pulling inspiration from female musicians and the films I watched as a teenager. My collection mixes mohair knitwear with denim predominantly, consisting of 8 looks.

The silhouette mimics that of being a teenager, overwhelming, oversized, playful and voluminous. Trying to fit into a big world.

Denim is used as the basis of fabrics for this collection, tough, durable and largely diverse, again mimicking the nature of growing up. The structural silhouette of my collection utilises the nature of Denim and creates beauty in the details.

This collection serves as a love letter to my sisters and my younger self.
